Bomb Sniffing Bee

December 14, 2006

Scientists have trained honeybees to sniff out explosives. Researchers at the Los Alamos National Labratory have worked on this for more than 1 and a half years. They think this can be used to prevent deaths by bombs. The bees use their tongue, or proboscis, to smell explosives in cars and other places. Right now, dogs are used for this but the bees do a better job.
